This body of work is rooted in my experiences growing up in the Western U.S., where wildfires and a connection to nature have shaped my perspective. My studio experiments with glass and metal have also informed this concept. Previous explorations—such as firing driftwood coated in accessory glass, capturing video and sound recordings in natural settings, and embedding invasive grasses between glass layers— have played a role in developing this concept. These tests have sparked my curiosity and pushed me to envision new possibilities for my work.
