Amber Trio, Spring 2026
Wild Honeysuckle, Golden Banner, and Chokecherry blossoms were pressed and dried for a month before being kiln-fired between layers of glass.
During firing, residual moisture within the plant material converts to gas. With no path of escape, the expanding vapor concentrates beneath the surface, forcing a localized distortion in the softened glass. This results in a structurally uneven bubble with varied wall thickness.
Each dome encapsulates smoke and, at times, trace moisture, physically recording the moment of combustion and containment. This work mirrors wildfire’s paradoxical act of transformation.
