FORGINGS
Collecting leaves, flowers, and other organic materials for inspiration is an integral part of my studio process. Once gathered, I arrange these materials in still lifes that are either haphazard or influenced by Japanese Ikebana, the traditional art of flower arrangement. Using this source material as inspiration, I transform these organic forms into forged pieces in steel, copper, or bronze.
I believe in aesthetic beauty and the pleasant feelings it evokes on the viewer. I try to convey my feelings of connection and the pleasure I experience when interacting with nature with these forged pieces.
